The only toy we destroy at our house is that Yeowwww catnip banana. They're expensive (or so Mom says) so of course we gut them like a fish. We also soak them in the water dish so it turns the water a lovely tea color. Life is good.
I think you ate the mouse and the string is all that's left. Cute.
