I think your dad figured you may not have noticed the scratching post if you were snoozing, Buddy.
My mum puts everything on my cat tree when she is cleaning, ham-mick, nippy mat, everything. Then I can't get up there because it is full up. She has never put anything on top of me though...yet.
Mum does that kind of crazy things to us too. Human cleaning rituals we suppose... Purrs

Our Meowmy did that cleaning chore here too, and it was too noisy. She also stole all the lovely nip that was all over the carpet. Sheesh.
Now we have to work hard putting our furs back on everything and beg fur new nip.
