Timmy Tomcat Forever

My dear friends I am sorry to meow that I have had to leave you all. It was time to go back to heaven by climbing the stairs of the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with all my dearly missed family & friends. It was a hard choice. Dad will miss me most but I was getting really tired and he said he understands. My family knew before I did as, being cats, they are tuned to the subtle whispers of the universe while I was listening more to my heart.
That is how it is when you are a Heart Kitty

Dear friends this has one of the hardest days of my life, saying goodbye to dear Timmy who was my true Heart Cat. This photo is one of the first I took of him and was from when he got his name. He came into our small space, sniffed around a little, leaned up on my leg and gave me the look that he did everyday we were together. He looked directly into my eyes and it was an instant connection. Like he was saying "Hey there fella, we are together, connected and will love and care for each other, forever." He had been called "Potter" but I said "Yes we will... Tomcat, Timmy Tomcat!" 
I will miss you so dear Timmy!

Timmy let me know we were connected best in his behavior. Besides playing and having fun he was always there. The welcoming cat morning, noon and night. A good, maybe the best, example is how he slept. At night, after treat time, which could be a bit exciting, he would settle near me with his big purr rumbling out. The family would all fall asleep but whenever I woke in the night I would hear that purr. I would reach out and he would rub his head on my hand all the while with his motor running. I could then drift off again feeling loved with my best friend by my side.
There is so much more I want to say and I will in time.
Timmy I know you are right there looking down with love with all our other dear Angels. It is sad that we did not have a longer time here but we made the most of it.
No goodbyes but just until we meet again dear friend!

Two Awww-some Fellas

So back to my ultrasound. I am really relaxed and purring so Dad tell the story please.
Sure Tim. My best friend has Lymphoma. He has 2 small spots in his small intestine, 2 larger in his tummy and lots in his lungs. 
That is why my purr is a bit rough but I breathe just fine. I have Steroids and Ear-Taz so am eating pretty well.
We are going to enjoy each others company, like today, for as long as we can, and Timmy says he is comfy.
You betcha Dad. We communicate really well

Timmy's Thankful for Comfy Dad

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by today. We so enjoy your visits whenever you can make the trip. Today I wanted to say how Thankful I am for a loving Dad. He and I have been relaxing on the couch like this for a long time and it is just so nice

He sits down and we all get our treats and the family go off while I settle in against his leg, all nice and comfy. He says on a stressful day it is comforting for him, and I feel the same

We both slowly unwind and let our cares drift away. Just two good friends at the end of the day relaxing before its time to sleep. Do you have a special time with your person? We hope so because it is awesome!

We are also thankful that we were first commenters along with Janet, Carole and Sharon on this weeks Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. Hope to see you there next week!

Thankful for Caring Friends

Thanks so much for stopping by today friends. It always makes us purr when you stop by for thankful Thursday, and, all the days you do. We think of you as our friends and that is what we are thankful for this week, friends. Friends who care enough to visit. Let us explain why. You see we had that early summer heat wave like so many of you did over the past week. Were we ready? Not in the least. Imagine or surprise when Dads friend stopped by on Sunday morning to put in our AC units. He said he had been doing them for his family all week but wanted to stop by and get ours in too. He took the time to help us even though we are in a town over from his. A friend like that is something to be thankful for. Yes it is. No matter for something little, large or to just chat a friend stopping by is really all that. What are you thankful for this week friends? We can't wait to hear about that.

Timmy's Sad Selfie

Hello friends I sure hope you like my Selfie. I was sitting with Dad and must admit we were feeling down. In the past week we lost a long time blogging friend, Speedy and a dear friend from Cat Scouts Tubby. Then on top of that a special friend from Cat Scouts, Karen N, lost the love of her life very suddenly. Adding to things Dad and myself have not been feeling well so are up against it as are our Cat Scout friends. Hopefully spring will blow down some of these blues for all.

Speedy the Cheeky House Bunny was one of the first pet blogs we found when we started out way back when. Please visit his family to leave your support We remember so many adventures he went on especially with his gal pal Angel Nellie of Cats-astrophic Events. Make sure you visit to see all the fun!

Our dear Cat Scout friend Tubby was a real fun loving cat and we had so many adventures over the years. You have to agree he was a handsome Ginger fellow. We send his Mom and Family our support

We do have something happy to report and that is the Huge 15th Birthday that is going on at the Bridge for our pal Guido The Italian Kitty!

Timmy is Thankful for Snacks

Hello friends. We want to say thanks so much for stopping by today. The lifeblood of a blog are its readers and we sure do love you all. Now let me talk about my Thankful this week, snacks.
I recently had something happen, we are still not sure exactly what, that really hit my appetite. Dad was on it and worked with me to get me eating, not with big meals, but with snacks. You see I have never been one to sit and gorge like some members of this home, rather I like to graze all day. With me now getting the fanciest of feasts that is hard as others suck up all that Dad puts down. Snacks are the answer. I come in and sit on the table with Toby and Dad gives me my snack. Today to start off I ate a quarter of a can and then through the morning I had another half. This afternoon I had a few licks but that is my normal for a total of just about a can overall before dinner. Tonight I will have have snacks as I sit on the couch with Dad for maybe another half can or so. Sometimes I gobble up a good bit while other times just a few licks but Dad is ready when I am, fending off those who would polish off my snacks in a flash. I feel much better now and hope they can figure out what is going on but Dad will continue serving me snacks for as long as is needed. Did you know Buddy Budd had snacks for two years? It is so nice to have my snacks and a Dad who loves me enough to give them to me.

Thankful for Family

Hi friends and thanks so much for stopping by today. We sure enjoy seeing you any day you do but today is just a bit special. Why, because you are a part of our post. No your photo is not here and we will not list your name but you are a part of our Blog Family and today is all about Family. We really appreciate our Blog, Cat Scout, Here Kitty and FaceBook Families. You give us so much support when we need it and that sure helps smooth out the bumps of life. We are so Thankful for you all!
I am doing pretty well. I have been getting my ear rub Mirtazepine  every few days and have been eating pretty well. One Blog friend told us about this medication and another said we can use it as long as we need too. See how wonderful you all are. We think think so big time.

Timmy is Thankful for Dad

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by. We always enjoy seeing each and every one of you not only on Thankful Thursdays but anytime you grace our pages. You are the best. Now I want to get to my Thankful for the week who is none other than my Dad. He has been such help to me after the bad time I had last week. Did you know I was held captive for 3 days. You can read about it here on Herding Cat Tips.
Since I have been licking at my special food dish that Dad keeps for me but it is hard to tell how much I eat. You see I graze on the family dishes too. Dad says he will keep those dishes full until Einstein rolls against his foot MOL. It does make it harder for him though.
Last night I got my first medicated ear rub. I didn't even mind. Dad thought it would be messy but no, rather nice. Today (Wed) I almost ate a whole can of The Feast of Fancy, and, it's not even Dinner!
Yes, if it wasn't for Dad I would be in trouble. Then again he says the same about me. Sorry for this long post. I blame Dad MOL

In the Purrsuit of Flavor: Dads Favorite, Hamburger Goulash

The Canadian Cats and Easy Rider threw down a Challenge this week for a food that Dad really loved and would eat any chance he could. He grew up in the family diner so there were a lot of choices, but he always loved Moms Wednesday Menu Goulash. (How about that!) It was not gourmet but it was a tasty filling meal. 

Super Easy Ground Beef Goulash

Ingredients:

1 lb Ground beef 90% lean

1 ½ cup noodles uncooked (About ¼ 16oz box)

1 ½  16oz cans tomato sauce

1 cup beef broth

Cooking oil. Olive, Peanut or choice

Salt, Pepper, Oregano, Sugar (or sweetener per label equivalency) and Sage (Optional)

1. Bring approx 2 qt water to full boil and add a bit of ⅛ tsp salt (Optional) and 1-2 tbs oil. Add pasta. Normal cooking time is about 9-11 minutes depending on altitue. Cut back about 2 minutes what you would normally cook, rinse, drain and set aside in colander. Your oil prevents them from sticking.

2. In a pot brown ground beef and then pour off grease. There will not be much if you use 90% lean but if you use much less add a bit more meat as you will have more shrinkage.

3.  Add tomato sauce and beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add spices. ¼ tsp pepper, ¼ tsp salt, 1 tbs Sugar, 1 tbs oregano. If you use fresh oregano maybe ½ tbs. Dad adds two tbs but he likes it that way. A way to be adventurous is to add a slight pinch of sage. If you are not fond of it no worries.

4. Simmer sauce for 15 to 30min. Longer is better for yummy. Sample as simmering and add salt and pepper to taste.

5. Add Pasta to sauce and bring back to a simmer at least 5 minutes to cook the pasta the rest of the way. You may need to add a bit extra broth but water is fine so you have a nice consistency. 

6. Makes about 6 servings. Enjoy. It is really fast and simple. You can also use a packet of Chili Mix if you like instead of adding your own spices. For milder tastes use Meatloaf Mix. Dad likes his with a bit less pasta and sauce with more meat. This is an easy recipe to “tweak” till it is just how you like it.

I told Dad to fill the bowl up but he said this was "a normal person serving." So figure on 4 nice servings. It is really easy to add meat, pasta and sauce if you want to make for a gathering or some such. If we ever have those again that is

My second opinion was just a big nothing. Dad said they were wallet probing with silly things but he did agree to repeat labs and out in left field FeLv test. I did eat a bit last night but not much today.

Thankful for PDVC

Friends we are so thankful you could drop by today. We are always happy to see you all and so is Dad. I am spending the night at the vet so some purrs would be appreciated. 
Today we have a very special Thankful. A while ago Dad donated to a rescue group that is dear to us. Project Delta View Cats. We learned about this group through our friend Savannah since Mom L is one of the founders of this group. Today we were so happy to see some of the beautiful cats that we helped in our small way.

Baby is really beautiful. You know she is doing well by how she cares for that wonderful fur

Rosemary looks a bit wary but that is life on the outside. Nice clean bowls of food help

Sampson looks relaxed out for a walk in the sun

Now Rosemary is relaxed since her BFF Alfie is with her at lunch. Aren't they all beautiful. Thanks Savannah and Mom L for a great Thankful!
We want to remind everyone that community cats are those who, for whatever reason, choose to live outside and are not socialized to home life, although some may be a bit social. More info below.
