Almost Wordless: Play?

Mrowr, Rowr, Mrr (Dad play with me)

Mmff (Gotcha)

Dad: Einstein pulls his play stick around the house after me all day long meowing all the while for me to play with him. He catches the mousie (time for a new one) after only a few tries. He is fast and can he jump!

SuperBowl and Birthday Bash at Cat Scouts

What a day Einstein and I had at Cat Scouts yesterday. Every month we celebrate Birthdays with a theme and and this month it was Groundhogs! We had a Superbowl Pawty too so it was a full day of fun. Lots of blogging kitties belong so drop by and think about joining. This is a bit of our day!

Furst Timmy and I went to see Punxsutawny Phil. Our gals came too. Timmy brought Nibbler and I brought Shoko. We wanted to
see if spring will come early or winter will be here for six more weeks but promised not to tell. He was really nice wasn't he Timmy.
He sure was Einstein

Fur wearing our Groundhog Costumes we go into
an exclusive club.

We made Cat Scout Winter a GotCha day card

I made Cat Scout Inky a Birthday Card

I made Lil'One a Birthday Card. We had lots of fun
to enjoy before our Cat Scout Super Bowl Pawty started

We all went to the Spa to have fun in the hot tub or
just eat the Bacon that Sammy brought or the cupcakes
Gracie brought

We watched the Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel.
Such a great thing they do that is fun and helps so many get
adopted. Yay Hallmark Channel!
s
Gracie worked it out with the Kitten Bowl so we
could play. We promised to play nice with the kittens.
I had an interception, Almost anymeow.

I blocked a play. Wow those little cats can hit!

Then we each got a certifi-cat that we were in the game.

Then we settled in to watch the big game.
What a night Timmy. The best part was spending
time with Shoko. *Sigh*
Sure was Einstein.

Yes, I agree and being with Nibbler was made things purrfect.

Did your favorite team win yesterday?

Big Weekend Commentathon and Gotcha Day Celebration III

Welcome to the last day of our Grand Triple Header Commentathon & Got-Cha Celebration!
******
Timmy is up today a bit ahead of his Gotcha date of October 15th. We asked Dad to comment about our Top Cat and boss. How about it Dad

Thanks Toby. I guess we should start off way back in Aught Seven. Heh, heh I really like any time I can get an Aught in but I digress
I was living with my pal Inky as this was after the separation from the old ball and chain so he was my only cat. I had thought about getting him a playmate but worried as he was not very social cat and was an elder of twenty one wonderful years spend together. I was not sure what to do.
The end of September of Aught Seven, Ha, my neighbor told me about some kittens she was fostering. We had discussed rescue, foster and TNR on other occasions ever since she saw Inky in his carrier the year before so I knew she was very involved with helping cats. She said there were two little ones she was caring for and they would be a good match for my Inky. I declined with the excuses "Oh he is too old to adjust" and "What if he does not like him."

Too old at 21, really! I was spry as any 18 year old.
I am so going to drop Angel Poop on
your head Dad

She kept at me with a very soft sell. As I think back it was kind of odd she just happened to be in her front yard right when I got home from work.
After a week of coaxing I finally went in to look at the little marmalade tabby boys. They ran under the couch and under the chair as soon as we made  our entrance. She told me that they were from a feral mother who was living in an alley in a nest dug under some trash bags. She dragged one out and he hissed like crazy and ran back under the couch. I thanked her and said no thank you, they are a bit wild and went home.
The next few times we met I asked how they were doing and then came the big day. When I got home she ran in the house and when she came out said: "This is Potter. His brother was adopted last night and I hope you can take him as I need to start school out west in two weeks. If it doesn't work out I will take him back. I promise." Well this was something new. An offer to take him back if things with Inky did not work out. I looked at Potter and he looked at me and I thought I saw a little glint in his eyes. I gave in, she carried him inside and I filled out the forms she has in her back pocket. She laughed and said she was not taking no for an answer. We talked about Potter and she said she loved the Harry Potter movies which is where his name came from. We hugged and she left me and Potter sitting on the couch looking at each other. He started exploring and met Inky. They sniffed each other and... went their own ways with Potter exploring and Inky heading for a nap.

Busy Man-Cat checking things out.

That night I asked Potter if it was alright to call him... hmm... call him... Tomcat, no, how about Timmy Tomcat!

Timmy. Timmy Tomcat. That has a nice ring to it. Truthfully
anything but Potter. I was getting ready to claw that woman
if I heard "little pookie Potter" one more time. Meow.

Me and Inky got on famously
s
You did tend to be a couch hog!
I was a bit wasn't I Angel Inky

I am a chatty kitty and was always telling Dad
what to do and how to do it.

I am so glad Timmy came into my life. He was a good friend to Inky until he passed in December of that year. He has been very supportive of my odd swings of mood and has grown into a true friend that gives me much more than I can say. Thanks for asking me to talk about my true heart cat.
Aww Dad... Sniff... We better start the party before I get all teary eyed. Toby take it away
You bet Timmy. This is the last day of our three day Commentathon. We are going to tally the comments from Friday, Saturday and today and give a half a green paper per comment up to one hundred green papers to a great rescue that is close to my heart:

This cage free adoption center is where I furst met Dad and I want to help them all I can. They have some fun events listed this month for anyone in the Philadelphia burbs so take a look.

Big Weekend Commentathon and Gotcha Day Celebration I

Welcome to day one of our Grand Triple Header Commentathon & Got-Cha Celebration!
******
Today we celebrate Rumpy Bump Stumpnots, tomorrow Einstein and on Sunday we will pawty with Top Cat Timmy! Take it away Miss Fitz.
Thanks Toby. We do hope you enjoy our family history so Let's all get to know our furst celebrant:
 Rumpy Bump Stumpnots
The story as I hear it is that Dad was puttering on the good old internets as Dads tend to do. He had been thinking of getting another Sphynx. Our Angel Coco had gone over the Rainbow Bridge after having a good life here, first with Dads Mom and then with Dad after Mom passed.
Dad wanted to work with a rescue rather than a breeder so was browsing various purebred cat rescue sites. As he browsed and saw all those cats that needed homes he went from casual looking to seriously wanting to help a cat in need. Dad saw two handsome brothers and decided to get some more information on them.
Corkie and his brother were two American Bobtail kittens. They who were dropped at the shelter as they did not fit the breed standard due to being, well, rumpies.
Bobtails should have a tail that is about one third to one half the length of a normal tail. These cats may also have health problems due to the accompanying shortened spine. Dad emailed the foster pawent and she said Corkie was fine, but, he had an adoptoin application already and his brother had also gotten his forever home. Dad was happy that they both had homes and figured it was meant to be. Well it was but not how he thought.
A few days later he got an email. Corkie was available! Now came the logistics as he was in West Virginia. His foster pawrent suggested a transport company and Dad made the arrangements while she made sure he got his vet check and immunizations which are needed for interstate transport. All done but the waiting.

Here he is coming home on Oct. 18th 2010. Dad got up at 430AM and drove 50 miles to get him off the transport. He was the
only cat and rode here in a big truck separated from the 20 dogs who also made the trip. Dad said the truck driver was really nice

and said he took good care of Corkie on the ride up.

After he arrived he went to the foster room. Here he is having
his very first meal. Dad says that was gone in 5 minutes.
He still has a very good appetite. MOL

He was curious and asked foster Phantom what he had
gotten himself into. He was told how lucky he was
as those fosters were having a grand time.

Look at those big paws. He has really grown
into them.

He really loved Dad right from the start. Just look at that
face. He was making biscuits like crazy and still does.

Rumpy says he knew he was in the right home when Dad gave him his new cool name. Dad said "No more Corkie. From now on you will be known as Rumpy Bump Stumpnots." Rumpy ran around the room meowing when he heard that. He says everyone at our Vets office love his name and make a big fuss whenever he goes to visit.
We love you Rumpy. You are our big white whale without a tail!

Thanks Miss Fitz!
We do love our big buddy. Most of the time. MOL.
Now lets get to the best part of this event, helping others with our Commentathon. We are going to tally the comments today, Saturday and Sunday and give a half a green paper per comment up to one hundred to a great rescue that is close to my heart:

Kitty Cottage

This cage free adoption center is where I furst met Dad. I tagged him from my favorite cat tree and when I saw him again I knew I picked the right guy. They have some fun events listed for anyone in the Philadelphia burbs so take a look.

Now on with the PAWTY! This is a three day affair with adult beverages so please spend weekend. Dad says he will stay in his room most of the time and you are free to lay on the bed as long as he has a bit of room. MOL!

We have more cake so eat all you want

Tuna Cakes are the BEST

Extra Bacon for Timmy' Cat Scout pals

Buddy brews this in the garage. It's Great!

We have some craft beer too

Nip, of course, plenty more so dig in

Remember to stay the night if you indulge in adult cat beverages

******
We hope you will visit the Yard Sale / Fundraiser that will help Jack from Tails from the Foster Kittens. Big Jack was very ill and he needed a lot of vet care and love to pull through. Purrs Jack and family!
