Sunday Selfie: Rumpy Bump Stumpnots

****Emergent Situation****
Today right after we posted our Selfie with Rumpy there was a medical event.
Something happened to Buddy Budd. He is turning 17 this year and has some medical issues but this is something totally new and very scary!
He has not been eating well the past 24 hours and I was watching him closely this morning with his breakfast. He passed up his normal meal even with treats on top. More alarming was he seemed very unsteady on his feet.
I got the rest their breakfast and he had gone into my office. I called him and he came out but was walking with an odd gait. He climbed up onto the table using his stairs and I opened some baby food for him.
Wow did he dig in! He ate the whole bottle and I was really happy. Happy until he tried to jump down and fell!
Now he cannot stand or walk. He is in no pain. I thought a Saddle Thrombus but no pain and his back legs are warm.
He tries to get up but not a lot and, as stated, he seems to be in no pain. I moved him over to the water and he drank a good bit like always.
He is lucid and awake!
Not crying and no pain!
Unlike myself he does not seem very upset by all this!
I will do what needs to be done to care for my Big Blue Buddy, Buddy Budd.
Called the vet and he will get there ASAP.
PLEASE Send: Purrs, Prayers, Woofs, Good Thoughts, Vibes and Healing Energy! I will keep you all up to date.
Buddy, myself and the family all thank you!

  10. I am sending good thoughts for Buddy. I hope whatever has caused this can be helped and he will soon be on the road to recovery. It is good that he is eating, and that his back legs are warm. I don't know if you remember that Flynn had a frightening episode that sounds similar to this. He was walking strangely but in no pain. We never did find out what caused it, but we and the vet suspect it was a mild stroke. It took about a week but he made a full recovery from it. I hope Buddy also recovers as quickly.
A good head scritch makes for a good selfie, Rumpy.

  13. Oh no! I'm sending lots and lots of purrs to Rumpy! Binga is 17 too and I know my human worries about her a lot - although she seems mostly healthy (although increasingly quirkier), we all know that at this age, things can go wrong. I'm so glad he's seeing the vet asap - please keep us posted.
