I wanted to look cute while I explain how I had Dad going crazy. It was Monday and for some reason I wasn't hungry. I licked a bit of breakfast and then was off through the cat door. There were Boomers in the afternoon with big winds but, strangely, no rain. Anymeow, I was not at dinner and then I was not around for treats on the couch. Sometimes I sit where you can't see from the window so Dad went outside into the cat yard and got worried, scared even, when he saw a BIG branch had blown down and was up against the cat fence. It was 4" around and 15' long pushing the fence down and leaning over it at a pretty shallow angle. Dad thought "Fitz could go right over that if she wanted" and was really worried. He did get it down and then called my name over and over and over and went as far as his electric wheelchair could go. No Fitz. He kept thinking of our dear friend Sawyer who is missing. He sat back down and was planning to put out the camera and our traps with food when... it started raining pretty hard. Of course I ran in and hopped onto the couch, wet, to say hello, like nothing was wrong. How did I know? Sorry Dad! Later he found the door to the secret room was open a crack. I zip in there if I have a chance due to mousie history. Dad thinks I was in there all day. I'm not saying! |

Every kitty must have a hiding place that drives the humans crazy. Even I do! Although the timing right now probably wasn't too good.
ReplyDeleteOh Fitz, that wasn't nice to frighten your dad like that! The boys had lots of hiding places in the garden that I pretended I didn't know about. Flynn had somewhere that I never did find though. I suspect that he climbed up in the centre of the Leyland hedge and made himself a nest in there, but will never know now.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Miss Fitz, it sounds like you just about gave your dad a heart attack. So glad you were safe and in from the storm. And were you not hungry because you were eating a mousie while you were hiding.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find Admiral once for about 4 hours, and while she doesn't/didn't have access to the outside, I was afraid she may have squeezed out when I left earlier in the day. It was a horrible several hours. Her, Miss Fitz's, timing was just right to scare you. I know it was awful. If they could ONLY talk. She could have told you why she wasn't eating. I can, as we all can here, appreciate just how stressful the whole thing was. Thank heaven it turned out well.
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Fitz! Be careful out there! We know you are a smart on the street cat but there are big nasty things out there!

That had to be super scary for your Dad. We're glad it turned out okay. We're purring for Sawyer's safe return.

ReplyDeleteGlad you’re ok. You really shouldn’t scare dad like that.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Me Miz Fitz
ReplyDeleteDiva Angel Madi once decided it would be fun to follow me in a closet when I was putting up laundry upstairs. Just 5 seconds before that she was fast asleep downstairs.
The closet was in the front part of the house 2nd floor. She had so many sleeping places we didn't miss her until her internal FEED ME alarm went off. We heard a gosh awful thumping.
We followed it up to the 2nd floor. I opened the door and miss pris sashays out all the while giving me the mother of all stink eyes. You kitties....do drive your staff crazy crazy
Hugs Cecilia

Your poor Dad! Don't scare him like that!
ReplyDeleteFitz! Don’t make your dad worry like that!
ReplyDeleteYour dad must have been terrified, Fitz. We think you should give HIM treats for like a week or nine.
ReplyDeleteMiss Fitz, DO NOT frighten your dad like that again! Mom was feeling panic as she read your post. DO NOT ever pull a Sawyer. Mom still cannot figure out what got into him. She and Dad keep distributing flyers and adding posters and posting on-lime and a million other things. Thanks for continuing to pray for his safe return. ReplyDeleteOh Miss Fitz you sure gave your poor Dad a scare.....that feeling in the tummy when you can't find your cat is NOT FUN. I know too that it's fun to hide and explore and maybe even have some "private time" but when your Dad calls you - come. Just so he doesn't worry. We humans worry about stuff a LOT especially when it's got to do with our dear cat family. So - next time when Dad Pete calls "FITZ!" please go to him OK? OK!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Miss Pam
I freaked my dad out not long ago (mom, too). They thought I'd snuck outside, and after a lengthy search ended up finding me snooping around in one of the bedroom closets that had been left open. And no, I don't often come when they call.
ReplyDeleteWe can imagine how scary that was for Dad Pete! We are glad you are safe and sound, and everything is okay, Miss Fitz. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGeez, I hate it when a cat does that. I know how your dad felt, Miss Fitz, and I know it was not a pleasant feeling!
ReplyDeleteOh naughty! I get worried when I cannot find one of mine. Especially after checking all the usual hiding places! Glad all is okay :-D
ReplyDeleteI spent many an hour hunting for a kitty here...they sure give us those awful scary thoughts when they do that...
ReplyDeleteMiss Fitz, you have such a great life with your dad Pete and your furblings, why would you want to scare him half to death? Who would take care of you then?
Glad you thought better of the hiding and came back...phew!
Love your fill ins, too!
