Happy Passover

We wish our friends who are Jewish a happy Passover. Passover starts Friday night the 30th and ends Saturday evening April 7th.
Passover is the festival of freedom. It commemorates the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt and their release from slavery.
There is a celebratory meal on Friday and the last day Saturday. The meal is called a Seder. During Passover you do not eat levened foods and the thin Matzo is made of unleavened grain. A favorite is Matzah ball soup. There is a psalm recited at these meals called the Hallel and is also said at morning prayers.
