Mr Buttons Update

Hi Friends.
We read all your comments of support and we appreciate the love and caring. It means a lot to me and the family. I felt the supportive energy helping to get me back to better.

Dad gave me my fluids and I took them like a Champ. I tried to spit out my Mirtazapine and it got stuck on my tongue. Not doing that again as I started drooling like I saw a bowl of treats. MOL After a bunch of gulps it went down. Dad says it is such a small piece (1/4) that he needs a better way to give it to me. He will try baby food next. Yeah!

I ate dry food last night. Not a lot but way more than the the past days. This morning I ate a little more. Dad uses the "Buddy Trick." When I stop eating he puts a few treats in and mixes them up with my food. I then eat the treats and more food. 3 times he did that and I finished my meal. Dad thinks he is tricking me but Buddy told me about this and we are tricking him MOL.

Dad is going to look into food for Kidney disease and see if I like it before buying a case. He takes really good care of me.

I am only 7 years old and Dad says I will have many years with him. I will fight to get all the days I will be given by the Cat Mother Bast.

Thanks so much for all your suppurrt. Keep it coming and I will be better soon.

Mr Buttons
Dad Pete

  5. Mr. Buttons, I am new to your blog! I am sorry that you aren't feeling well, but it certainly sounds like your hoomin is doing a good job with you! Tell him to try pill paste, which is like pill pockets only in a tub. It's like PlayDoh, and you scoop out a wee bit and put the pill piece inside of it...and offer like a treat!

  14. Oh Buttons, we're so glad you're doin' better. But NO, purrlease tell uncle Pete not to get that Rx food. It's really not good fur you. 'Course, ya' need to stop with da dry foods and start eatin' wet stuffs or raw. The bestest diet fur kidney disease is high protein, low phos. The Tanya CRF site is a great place to compare noms and find one you will eat. Sis Lexi luvved ham and ham gravy baby food. But, she couldn't eat just that. MOL We're sayin
purrayers. Ifin ya' need anythin', just let us know. Big hugs

    Luv ya'

  16. Hi Mr. Buttons!! Sorry we have been so absent lately. Lita is pretty ill, and we have fallen out of touch with many of our friends, but we will try to be better.

Some kitties live many many years with kidney disease, and we would not be surprised if you are one of them! :) We are sending you lots of purrs and prayers. We hope you will eat some more and start to feel a little better soon!

  18. Well Mr. Buttons you are in the VERY best of hands with your Dad taking care of you. Angel Sammy was good about taking his pills with baby food for a long time and you can do that too - baby food is pretty good I hear! We are sending you tons of POTP too just in case you need a big supply of it - my Mom says you can't have too much of it!

    Love and Hugs, Teddy

  20. It's always a problem for cat and human when the pill makes you drool and foam. I know that too well. But I am very glad you are eating, Mr Buttons. that's so very important. My Cammie has kidney disease and won't eat any of the food the doctor prescribes for her - and we have to be very careful of what she eats as the slightest variation could cause her to vomit and stop eating. But she is doing well with normal food - and plenty of water! If anyone can look after you, though, Mr Buttons, it'll be your dad.

  21. Mr. Buttons, we are also so sorry you had to get this problem. Kidney disease is no fun, just ask Kali. Do you find you want to eat a table leg when you have your 1/4 of a pill. Kali gets very hungry and eats everything....she is no longer picky. We are sending purrs out to Bast and calling for her to step in and ease your suffering.

    Loves,

    Shoko and Kali
