July 3rd, A Strange Day and We are Home!

I awoke to a disturbing condition playing on my senses. I saw the ceiling of our home, with new lights ablaze, as through a prism. Oddly enough this felt as if things were as they should be and the concern I had was of the more pressing variety, my getting to my morning treat with my fellows, which caused me to try to move and find my fellows and Dad.
Imagine my surprise when I was stuck fast and could not move at all off of the position I had been in when I awoke. Concerned I tried all paws with only a slight rocking back and forth being the result. I then saw a long dark thing waving in front of my eyes, or maybe I should say my kaleidoscopic vision, a thing with some claw at the end and hairs coming off. No there were several of these waving about in the air. They are my legs but I cannot control them. They just wave about with a mind of their own.
Suddenly I saw Rumpy. I meowed to him 'Dood, help me get up. I seem to be stuck.' No regular meow came out only a strange hissing. He ran over to me and gave a look of disgust and whacked me a good one. Suddenly on my feet I scuttled over to Dad and looked up and asked for my treat. His nose wrinkled and he kicked me over to the couch. What gives? The family were looking at me and Dad said: "Where did THAT come from?"
I could not get off my back! My legs were waving in the air!
Well furends what is all this then?
What is all this then?
What is all this then?

What is all this then?

Why its a Birthday Dedication!

Happy 130th Birthday Franz Kafka!

The Tomcat Family and Dad are Laughing!!

Hey you have to admit I had you going there. I think that tribute to Franz's "The Metamorphosis" was pretty darn good.

So thats done.
We are officially back in our home since Monday morning. It was a really odd day as those men were still around painting and climbing and pushing our furniture about. Things finally settled down after 6 when they left. Dad looked as tired as we felt.

It is very strange getting used to the new smells. We have been working overtime rubbing our scent on things. I was done by bed time and took my normal spot next to Dad. Fitz ran right in along with Buttons and Toby. Rumpy is a bit put out. Buddy is all into the newness. He has been like a kitten running and playing. He NEVER played with string toys with Dad. Now he is right in the thick of it.

Yes this new home is good. We wish all our friends a happy 4th and will be visiting you all this weekend. We will have pictures too!

I loved your Metamorphosis take! My human read that book not that long ago so she really got a kick out of it too. I'm glad you like your new home.

I didn't know what was going on, to tell the truth. But I'm glad it was just a small dose of Kafka...
